Virgin Islands Lottery Photo Contest Rules
Eligibility: In order to submit an entry, thoroughly read, complete, and sign the Lucky You Release Form which gives the Virgin Islands Lottery the rights to use your Lucky You photo on the October 28th Virgin Islands Traditional Drawing Ticket and for promotional purposes for an unlimited period of time. You must be 18 years of age or older to enter.
Entry Forms: The entry form is available for download at www.winusvilottery.com. Entry forms are also available at all Virgin Islands Lottery offices and Money Gram locations in Nisky Center, Havensight and Anna’s Market St. Thomas, and Lucky You promotional events on all three islands.
How to Submit Entries:
- Email your digital head and shoulders photo (see photo requirements below) and agreeing to Entry Terms.
- Download, sign and scan the Entry Form. Send your signed form and digital head and shoulders photo to: LuckyYou@winusvilottery.com. Be sure to label your jpg with your full name.
- Take your signed Entry Form and a copy of your digital head and shoulders photo on a CD to any VI Lottery office. Label the file with your full name and write your full name and phone number on the outside of the CD. Applications will be accepted at any Virgin Islands Lottery Office during office hours from (8am to 5pm). Last day of submission is August 6, 2010 5pm.
- Attend a Free Photo Event to have a free professional photo taken. You will be required to sign the Entry Form at the event. Applications filled out at promotional events will be automatically submitted for judging. Events will be held:
- St. Thomas: July 24, Tutu Park Mall 11am – 3pm
- St. John: July 26, St. John Marketplace 11am – 2pm
- St. Croix: July 31, Sunny Isle 1pm - 4pm
Timing: Entry submission begin Monday, July 21, 2010 12:00am and ends Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11:59pm. Winners will be announced after August 15th.
Photo Guidelines / Requirements: You may upload (1) one image for each entry. Your submission must be in .jpg or .png file format and should not exceed 2MB in size. Picture must be taken including head to shoulders only. See Judging Critera below to see what the judges will look for when selecting the top 20 photos. Background should preferably be a solid color. Professional pictures will be taken for free on all three islands (please view schedule).
Content Restrictions / Photo Disqualifications: Photos will only be considered only if Entry/Release Form are completely filled, signed, and submitted by August 6, 2010 11:59 pm by the individual in the photo. Applicant must be in complete compliance of photo guideline (head to shoulders). • Images will not be eligible if file is damaged, too low-quality, or formatted incorrectly. Content must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement. • The Submission must not contain brand names or trademarks other than those owned by Sponsor, which entrant has a limited license to use to incorporate in his/her Submission in this Contest; • The Submission must not contain images or artwork created by entrant; • The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous; • The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; and • The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations of the U.S. Virgin Islands or in any state where Submission is created.
Judging Criteria: Judging will be determined by a team representing the Virgin Island’s Lottery. The selection of the 20 top photos will be final and is at the sole discretion of the Virgin Islands Lottery. To increase chances of being selected, photos must follow competition theme “expressing luck” or happiness, excitement, and joy. Potential winners will be selected based on photos displaying one or more qualities including: enthusiasm, creativeness, and unique expression of luckiness.
